Tricksta Feat. Supar Novar, Cyclonious, LATE, Streetz & Deeze – Out Of Darkness (Music Video)

Tricksta has been producing and releasing music since 1996 and is integral part of the Midlands and UK Hip-Hop scene. His passion for home-grown Hip-Hop started back in the original wave of UK Rap when he used to play the sounds of MC Duke, Demon Boyz, Blade, London Posse and many more on his pirate radio show on Fantasy FM back in the early nineties. Fast forward to 2011 and Tricksta is now a producer, a deejay, a journalist, label manager, mixtape DJ, magazine editor and much more, but above all he is a ridiculously passionate Hip-Hop enthusiast that constantly tries to push his beloved genre to the maximum. Tricksta has been producing artists and releasing Hip-Hop on Wolftown Recordings since its birth in May 1999 but never before has he released a producer/artist album.

Now in 2011 Tricksta unleashes his first single from his forthcoming album ‘Out Of Darkness Cometh Light’. The single entitled ‘Out Of Darkness’ features Supar Novar, Cyclonious, LATE, Streetz and Deeze who all deliver a 12 bar verse for this no-nonsense brass lead Tricksta produced UK anthem. From London to Wolverhampton to Bristol, all manors are repped here in a track that really gives us a vibe of what the full-length album will be like. ‘Out Of Darkness Cometh Light’ the full-length album features over forty British MC’s from all over the country and has taken three years to make. This album is going to be a must for any discerning UK Rap fan as it promises features from the cream of the current scene as well as contributions from new cutting edge artists alongside some home-grown legendary names. Out of the darkness comes Tricksta, a producer set to do big things this year.

‘Out Of Darkness’ drops on Wolftown Recordings MP3 in April 2011 complete with a Drumstep Remix by Juttla

Reggiimental & Matt Henshaw – When I Close My Eyes (Music Video)

ReggiiMental (also known as Jimmy B-Boy) is a UK Rapper that thinks outside the box. It’s probably fair to say that the best way to think about ReggiiMental is to ‘expect the unexpected’, as this Midland’s based lyricist and performer is a very open-minded, forward thinking individual with his own unique style. ReggiiMental is a true pioneer in the creation of the musical genre branded as ‘B-Boy Soul’.

ReggiiMental’s last single ‘Can’t Hold Back’ featured Midlands singer Matt Henshaw and was well received within the media and actually featured in The Guardian on Paul Lester’s ‘band of the day’ playlist for September 2010. Matt Henshaw featured this track in the live performance he did at Love Box 2010 after he won NME Breakthrough Competition to open the main stage at the festival.

Most UK Rap fans will know of Reggiimental’s work as he was an integral part of the Hip-Hop Collective called Gnostix who where signed to RustyJukeBox Records also home to Unfriendly Neighbours, Matt Henshaw and The Lost Generation. ReggiiMental has also featured on underground mixtape releases from & UK Runnings, as well as collaborating with Baby J, Mike-S (SlapUp Mill), Wizard and Cipher J.E.W.E.L.S from Moorish Delta 7 and sharing stages with Example, N-Dubz and the legendary KRS-One.

As well as making good music Matt Henshaw and Reggiimental are both supporters of the Love Music Hate Racism Campaign. These positive vibes must be working as their music is so uplifting and inspiring! The new single ‘When I Close My Eyes’ has a distinct 60’s vibe with its infectious organ riffs, catchy hook-line and a super sick flow from ReggiiMental. ‘When I Close My Eyes’ comes with a great music video and is the first track to be taken from the forthcoming EP ‘The FirePit’ which is released in April 2011.

Rewd Adams – Rewd Awakening (Free Download)

He’s only gone and done it, most folk, after building themselves a nice little buzz and bagging a healthy amount of one’s to watch last year [THE GUARDIAN / METRO / THE INDEPENDENT / BBC 1XTRA etc] would have stuck to plan A and ran with it! But no, not in the world of Drew Turnbull, formerly Skandal now known as REWD ADAMS!

REWD AWAKENING marks the start of a new phase and anyone that’s familiar with his last output will notice that the levels have risen yet again. He’s still got that slap in your face delivery and the dirtiest canvas of audio bullets to paint on [provided by JETSUN / SIVEY / M-PHAZES – TALIB KWELI, REDMAN / JON PHONICS / ED STRONG / LOUDMOUTH MELVIN & BEAT BUTCHA – MAC MILLER, JADAKISS] but there’s a certain assurance and an added something to his performance that doesn’t go unnoticed this time round.
