12.11.28 Zebra Katz Alex Mattsson AP-17

Red Bull Catwalk Studio has brought together soon-to-be-sensation, Zebra Katz, with London fashion designer, Alex Mattsson to create an original soundtrack and film for his AW13 presentation as part of London Collections: Men. The track will embody the themes and inspiration behind Alex’s futuristic aesthetic and will become the soundtrack of his film. Both will be premiered during his AW13 presentation at The London Film Museum on the 8th January 2013.

The presentation, creatively directed by Matthew Josephs will also be bought to life by a performance by the captivating front man himself, Zebra Katz, and feature special guest Njena Reddd Foxxx. Red Bull Catwalk Studio is a unique collaboration that aims to help designers enhance their presentations, taking their collections to the next level by marrying fashion and music.

Designer Alex says “Music and fashion have always been closely related and this project explores and nurtures that relationship. I’m a huge fan of Zebra Katz’ work so it will be really fun to create a body of work together that you can not only see, but hear and feel.”

Alex Mattsson’s AW13 collections take inspiration from 1940’s Americana and the large-scale Latin immigration to California of the era. Blending Latin American cultures of today and the past, the collection references Zoot Suits, 40’s Workwear and South American inspired denim mixes. Alex Mattsson’s signature futurist aesthetic takes seasonal inspiration from sub-cultures, in particular those associated with Biker Gang Culture. He singles out “The Mongols” for AW13 – a notorious biker club made up almost exclusively of Latino immigrants rejected by The Hell’s Angels due to their ethnicity.

Fresh on the scene Zebra Katz has already taken the fashion and hip hop worlds by storm. Pulling from a multimedia and performance art background, Zebra Katz is the capstone creation of 25 year old New York multidisciplinary artist Ojay Morgan. He has cultivated a signature and unique presence all his own. Having shared the stage with artists from Diplo to The Scissor Sisters, Lana Del Ray and Azealia Banks, his live shows are not to be missed, and have been enjoyed by audiences worldwide.

The track and film created for Red Bull Catwalk Studio will be premiered exclusively at Alex’s presentation at The London Film Museum, Covent Garden on the 8th January 2013. The film and track will also be available for free download at, bringing the catwalk directly to you.
