New Sturban Podcast

My musical tastes are very varied, and I have been thinking about doing this particular podcast for along time and been putting it off, when you hear you may not appreciate it as some of the tracks are challenging and you may not even call them music hence the name of this podcast NOISE.

noise
When I first became aware not just on music but, who I was, was with the awakening to a new style of music. It was 1977/78 and The Clash and the Sex Pistols hit the scene bring with them punk rock, with this new music I became aware of music, politics, art, fashion and ultimately who I was. I do still like to listen to punk rock but not all day every day as I used to.

At that time I was very closed mind, at first only listening to punk rock but then I also started listening to reggae and dub along with experimental music and this is where this podcast comes in. I have tried to make this podcast varied and not too overwhelming, droning and dull and included tracks from Throbbing Gristle and SPK but whilst digging I came across The Future.

The Future were formed in 1977 and they made a demo in a Sheffield house, the band later went on to great things but under a new name The Human League. Then we conclude with the band that I used to slip into almost every podcast Kraftwerk but with a twist, instead of Kraftwerk it’s covers, showing the reach that Rolf and Florian have had.

Along with the launch of these web presences we overly pleased to announce the ‘Street Smash’ debut MixTape from our artist Yaeo entitled ‘Brandy Dreams’ with the possibility to get it for FREE! London artist Yaeo finally drops his debut mixtape which acts as the perfect tonic to keep us going until he drops his debut album in 2013. ‘Brandy Dreams’ is Yaeo’s debut release and has already been co-signed from Bad Boy Records artist FrenchMontana as well as the legendary Max B. Featuring a collection of superb solo tracks as well as features from Max B, French Montana, Biggathreat, Cerose from PDC, Wordsmiff, Supar Novar, Ruthless, Queen Vic & Mohawk Renee. This mixtape is available for FREE download, Strictly Limited Edition CD containing 2 bonus tracks from http://www.TheLondonWave.com , up until the end of the year when ‘Brandy Dreams’ will be made available via iTunes.

Yaeo has been carving a name for himself in the Hip-Hop community for the last few years. Starting out as a member of some of the most infamous graffiti crews in Europe he soon turned to music as his main channel of creativity and released his EP ‘Tha Last Of Tha Mohawks’. This heart felt EP featured Skin of Skunk Anansie and Farma G from Taskforce and was distributed widely through the legendary Kung Fu flyer packs. This release has championed by Hip-Hop tastemakers everywhere including a superb review in HHC Magazine by Dan Greenpeace and support from leading deejay’s on the radio, club and mixtape circuits. Whilst playing live at many underground Hip-Hop clubs in London he met Skinnyman who made Yaeo a member of the well respected Mud Family.

Yaeo followed up his EP with a string of solid radio exclusives including ‘Stop Me Now’ which was produced by Farma G and received airplay on BBC Radio One from Giles Peterson, BBC 1Xtra from Rodney P & Skitz and Kiss FM by DJ MK. Yaeo continued to work hard on getting his name heard collaborating and featuring on various mixtapes and tracks, working closely with North London crew F.L.I.P before starting his own Mohawk Gang Entertainment. After releasing the music video to ‘Call Tha Police’ it soon got picked up by US based WorldStarHipHop.com and placed on their website, which at the time was a first for a UK artist. As well as all of this Yaeo has recently been featured on VLADTV and is the first London artist to be made officially part of the CokeBoys / WaveGang familia!! FREEMAXB

Yaeo makes music influenced by real life issues and relay’s it in his own Wavy style of street commentary. This talented individual has the experience, the style, the vision and the work ethic to blow up the UK scene. Don’t say we never warned you… Yaeo has arrived!! ..Don’t download at your peril.

Krystatic “Future Frenzy EP” (Review)

Krystatic – Future Frenzy EP (Review)

Hailing from Wolverhampton in the West Midlands is an artist and label who has been putting in work for the last few years. Krystatic is an urban artist that encompasses all styles of music, dubstep, R’n’B and hip-hop are mixed up but throughout he manages to give us good songs with good hooks. The quality remains all the way through with stand out tracks being ‘That Rave’ and ‘Future@Stake’.

The production is really tight too, almost shocking that they feature on a free download really, but then on the upside music fans like myself get to own it! I do think that maybe the best is to come from this artist but now with the bonus of having some releases under his belt he is going from strength to strength.
